The newest version of my WordPress plugin TweetOnPost is available at http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/tweetonpost/. The latest version adds support to add your post’s tags and categories to your tweet as twitter hash-tags.

That's a very quick update! unfortunately I can't get it to work properly. The tweets are just coming out the code instead of the category (http://twitter.com/batchheader )

Where am I going wrong?

Substitute the # with a category number depending on how many categories you want in your tweet. like [category1] [category2] etc. If your post just has one category, it will be [category1]

Try going to twitter.com/oauth_clients and reset consumer key/secret, and reenter. If that doesn't work please let me know what theme/other plugins you are using.

I feel so dense right now, but:

My posts don't always have the same number of tags, anywhere from 1 to 4. If I put [category4] will it show however many tags there are from 1 to 4, or only the 4th one?

It won't, but if you do [category1] [category2] [category3] [category4] and you only have one category, it will only show the one.
